Hi, my name is Evan and I’m a student at Oaks Christian High School.  I love doing outdoor activities like: fishing, golf, tennis, snow skiing, body surfing and boogie boarding.  

During COVID when everything was shut down, my friends and I started fishing to have something to do.  Since it is an outdoor activity, it was a perfect way to spend time with people.  In 2023, a family friend asked if I could teach her son to fish.  I took him and he had a lot of fun so they told their friends about it and it sparked an idea in me.  I had a lot of interest so I decided to start a fishing camp where we would meet once a week and I could share my love of the outdoors with young kids.

That first summer I learned a lot about running a small business.  Marketing, customer service, and managing inventory were some of the skills I sharpened.  More than anything though, I learned how much fun it is to work with young kids.  Summer of 2023 my fishing camp was born and back by popular demand, has been operating every summer since.  Thank you families for making it possible!

In 2024 I signed up to be part of the Student Visionary of the Year campaign with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  It was such a rewarding experience that I am continuing my work with LLS as part of the Junior Leadership team.  Part of my 2025 earnings will go towards my continued fundraising and awareness for LLS.  Specifically, my campaign and portfolio linking is for pediatric cancer RESEARCH.  If you would like to donate for this cause please click on my fundraising link.
